Manufacturing Industry Features
Itabashi Industrial Trade Fair

Taking advantage of the area’s proximity to the city center and sub-center area, a manufacturing industry that can immediately respond to market needs is growing.

Itabashi Ward has a large number of print-related businesses such as plate making, printing, and bookbinding companies, and precision machinery businesses. Notably, it accounts for about 20 percent of optical instrument and lens production in Tokyo. It ranks second in Tokyo in the number of manufacturing industry employees, and five in terms of shipment.

Kita Ward is the birthplace of Japan’s modern industry, and was a thriving site for spinning and paper manufacture-related companies. Now, it gathers companies related to clothing, paper products, and printing.
